Proper aftercare is essential to healing your tattoo and keeping it looking its best for years to come.
Remove the wrap 2–3 hours after your session. Do not rewrap your tattoo. Be mindful of clothing and bedding during the first few days — light plasma and ink leakage is normal.
Gently wash the area with unscented soap and lukewarm water. Pat dry, then allow the skin to air dry for 20–30 minutes. Repeat cleaning twice daily.
Wait a few days until the tattoo becomes dry before applying moisturizer. Once the skin feels dry or tight, apply a thin layer of unscented lotion or moisturizer after each wash.
Repeat cleaning and moisturizing twice daily. If the tattoo feels dry between washes, clean and reapply moisturizer. Peeling after the first week is part of the normal healing process.
Proper aftercare doesn't end once healing is complete. Healthy skin preserves vibrant tattoos. Continue moisturizing regularly and always use sunscreen when your tattoo is exposed to the sun.
We recommend Lucky Paw Cooling Balm — designed specifically to ease tattoo healing symptoms and keep your skin hydrated throughout the process.
Avoid excessive exercise and sweating for 1–2 weeks.
No baths, pools, hot tubs, or ocean. Showers are fine.
Do not pick, scratch, or peel flaking skin. Let it fall off naturally.
Too much moisturizer can clog pores. A thin layer is all you need.
Avoid direct sunlight and tanning while healing. Use SPF 30+ once healed.
Redness, swelling, and mild soreness. Light plasma and ink leakage is normal.
Peeling and light flaking begins. This is normal — do not pick at it.
Surface healing completes. May look slightly cloudy — this will clear as the deeper layers heal.
Deep layers finish healing. Your tattoo settles into its final appearance.
